Value you receive monthly from your library: $
For every $1.00 in taxes you spend on your library, you receive $ of value in return*

*Where did these numbers come from? -- Per capita expenditures were collected from Wisconsin's 2010 Public Library Statistics, compiled by the State Division for Libraries, Technology and Community Learning (DLTCL). The return on investment is calculated by dividing each library's annual per capita expenditure by 12 (the number of months) to get a monthly per capita expenditure. The formula then divides the total value received each month by the monthly per capita expenditure.

This calculator is an adaptation of projects by the Maine State Library and Library Research Service, a unit of the Colorado State Library and the Colorado Department of Education that is operated in partnership with the Library and Information Science (LIS) Program, Morgridge College of Education, University of Denver.

How to Support Your Library

The Rusk County Community Library is always happy to receive donations.  But, there are various ways you can help us to maintain and increase our collection. You don't have to donate cash to the library.

GOODSEARCH     If you wish to donate to the Library without spending any money--a pretty neat trick!--all you have to do is use this website for searching:

http://www.goodsearch.com/.  When you go to the opening page, you see the white search term box, and below that another white box which says, "enter your charity here."  Just fill in the library's name and click the "verify" button.

Then every time you search for something, the library will receive a small donation.  It doesn't count if you search for the obvious, such as "Google.com" or Yahoo.com."

You can also shop online using GoodShop, and the library will receive a percentage of the total cost of your purchase--it doesn't cost you anything more.

DONATIONS   If you want to donate directly to the library, you can always drop off cash or a check.  We are very happy to have money for buying materials--books, DVDs, magazines, or supplies for children's programs.  If you wish to donate books or other items to the library, please ask us about what we can accept.  Most of the time, we can share older items with the Friends of the Library, when the library can not add them to the collection.

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY  Joining the Friends of the Library is another way to help us without making a large donation of money.  It only costs a few dollars to join the Friends, and you can volunteer with any of the ongoing activities.  You will be helping the Library in many ways!
